With mother’s day coming up at the end of this month I thought I would share with you some ideas and hopefully inspiration of things you can make for your mum! Pinterest is full of crafts for children to make for mothers day but crafts for adults and teens are a bit harder to find so here is a small selection!
Handmade bath bombs would be the perfect present for any mum who loves a bath plus they are also really easy to make! You could even keep some for yourself as well! There are lots of different recipes on Pinterest so take a look but here is a cute very easy set of instructions I found!
Do you have a favourite photo of you and your mum together? Put it on a vase following this tutorial and give it to her with a bunch of her favourite flowers!
I found these flowers and they reminded me of the tissue paper flowers I used to make in pre-school and primary school every year for mother’s day! So here is a slightly more grown up version which will hopefully last longer!
Button Photo Frame
This one doesn’t have a tutorial but I thought it would be relatively simple to make. All you would need is a deep box frame (Hobby Craft sell them), some buttons, glue and a photo or quote to put in the middle!
These would make the perfect present and if you know it will get used your time will be well spent! There are lots of patterns online for free for both crochet, knitting and sewing, This is a link to a free crochet pattern to make an ipad cover or a cover for a tablet of similar size.
You can never go wrong with an apron for anyone who loves cooking! It adds a personal touch to what some see as an everyday chore! This is a link to my free apron instructions which allow you to make a apron to suit your mum perfectly.
Everyone loves a pretty cushion and they brighten up a dull room considerably, especially if they’re handmade! Again Pinterest has lots of inspiration for different cushion designs of varying difficulty. These are very simple instructions with a pompom edging which I love!
I’ve never seen something like this done before but it’s such a simple way of decorating a vase making it unique to you. Again this would make a perfect present with a bunch of flowers!
If you know your mum’s jewellery is never organised now might be the perfect time to help her with this DIY organiser!
These would brighten up any kitchen and would make the perfect present to replace some old worn ones! Plus they look like a lot of fun to make!
Again another opportunity to use your favourite photos to add a personal touch to your mums living room!
This is a slightly more complicated project which may take a while but once complete would make a lovely gift for you mum to hang in a window!
I hope this has given you some inspiration and ideas of things to make for mother’s day! Let me know what you get up to!
